(01:21) project today we start at a critical juncture in human history as the impact of climate change is increasingly evident climate change is is not a distant threat but it is a pressing reality affecting our communities all around the world our climate law calculates how long it will take the global temperature to increase by 1.
(01:43) 5° C this threshold outline in the Paris agreement marks a Tipping Point of irreversible damage to our planet by tracking this countdown we hope to raise awareness about the need of immediate action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the impact of climate change but it is not on to many people through Collective efforts we can make a big difference from adopting renewable energy solutions to advocating for sustainable practices every action comes I would like to add that our school is committed to being a part of

(02:51) climate change and global warming means for not just their Community for the entire planet for our Second Story we're heading to DPS sha in the Middle East to meet our journalist Adrian collab D Silva who is in a forest talking about a group of citizens who devised bookmarks that contain seeds inside to do something amazing for the environment Adrian are you with us hell I'm here at shaj in sha this place has 35,000 trees with over 40 to 45 species of trees you might be thinking why do we need so many trees well
(03:36) deforestation as you as we all know we cut down trees so that we can build more buildings but this decreases the amount of trees and then it reduces the amount of oxygen in our surroundings but arada is planning to make cleaner and Greener communities we need to save the Earth arada shows you how plants are being born from the seeds seedlings in the greenhouse there also saplings to trees they also have a workshop where you can plant their own tree we need to plant trees so that we can make a cleaner Greener and a better

(05:42) plastic free future by ensuring that sdg goal three good health and well-being and sdg 12 responsible consumption and production are followed let's meet our young Eco Warriors hi so I heard that students of grade six of your grade have started using steel bottles and uh steel TI boxes instead of plastic ones can you please tell me more about this initiative yes definitely we want to reduce plastic waste and want to save our environment steel bottles and lens boxes are durable eco-friendly and can be used for a long time we are the green
(06:22) Warriors of korex that's a really great idea so can you please tell me how did you come up with this kind of great initiative we have learned about the harmful effects of the plastic waste in our school and wanted to make a change so we represented our ideas with our parents teachers and classmates \[Music\] \[Music\] excellent teamwork how has the response been from your fellow classmates and your teachers everyone is been very supportive and many students have already switched to steal lunch boxes and water bottles we

(08:03) environment it's even being found in our bodies maybe you can be inspired by that story and go plastic free in your school thank you so much for that story next we're heading to harana India to meet our journalist samrat who's going to be telling us exactly how mustard seeds are harvested how they're grown but how they end up as products in your kitchen and in your schools Samurai are you there Thank You Gavin I'm here in Ro today this is the harvesting season in harana and I'm in a mustard field mustard is sewn in the
(08:40) month of October and harvested in the month of March it takes about 130 days to ripen after it ripen is collected into small bundles and then those small bundles are collected and formed into bigger bundles after those bigger bundles are formed they put into the threshold where the thresh threr threshes them like this and then the thresher segregates the crop cover from it the mustard seed and then those mustard seeds are collected here the then when this bowl is full of mustard seeds put into these guny bags where it's half full it's packed
(09:26) into small bags like this then it's send to the oil Mills wear the oil Mills grind them and get mustard oil out of them then they put the that mustard oil into bottles and then sell those bottles to the supermarket then we buy those bottles and use it in our daily life for cooking sometimes for putting on our body and as you can see it's a very hard and long journey from a mused Farm till your kitchen in a mush oil bottle back to you in the studio what a fantastic story from samat there showing us exactly the process of
(10:12) when products are made because we have to think there are so many products in our houses in our fridges in our cupboards that we eat and consume but to know exactly where they come from and as Sam has just shown us to know exactly the process that goes on in terms of making them was very enlightening allowing us to make proper decisions about where we buy our products and the way that they are made for Story number five this week we are heading to South Africa to Cape Town we're going to meet Benjamin Rosales our
(10:44) journalist this week who is interviewing a longdistance runner from his local area who is running many many miles for charity to change the world Benjamin Cape Town are you there I'm here in Cape Town South Africa had the absolute privilege of interv Pacific and banner is a longdistance marathon runner who runs for Charities he is from the DLC he has three kids and he's aerista from Seattle Coffee Company in Constanta Village you may ask yourself why Pacific and is a charity marathon runner it's because in 2017 Pacific was diagnosed
(11:29) with a brain tumor which paralyzed the left side of his body and he had to go for surgery at Rus skar hospital where he successfully had a 12-hour brain operation which removed tumor but before this all happened he prayed to God that if he survived his brain tumor that he would help his community and help the people in his community and running was good for him he started getting good at it and he that was the way that he managed to help people in his community he became a charity marathon runner and that's pretty awesome so if you want to
